Kia Takes Forte Koup Off-Roading for SEMA

The Kia Forte Koup doesn’t seem like the type of car you’d want to take off-roading, but Kia didn’t let that stop it from creating the Forte Koup Mud Bogger concept for SEMA.

Kia will be bringing a total of six highly customized concepts to the SEMA stage, each with a nod to unique geographical locations throughout the country. The Forte Koup Mud Bogger pays tribute to the American South and hitting the dirt.

To make it possible for the Koup to handle more extreme terrain than the urban jungle, the concept was given a four-inch suspension lift, while swapping out its factory 16- or 18-inch wheels for custom rims wrapped in 28-inch off-road tires. To accommodate the increased tire size, custom riveted fender flares added and the side skirts were modified.

The interior was also upgraded, with a panoramic roof added with a vinyl pushback top. Carpet was removed from the entire vehicle and replaced with Line-X protective coating. Sparco Evo II Red Race Seats replace the stock seats. The Mud Bogger concept also features a hand-built roll cage finished in a powder-coated white to match the new wheels.

Check out this concept and others from Kia during the 2015 SEMA Show happening in Las Vegas next week.
