Franchise heads to Iceland to film in the snow
New teasers for the upcoming “Furious 8” film have surfaced, revealing a set of insane and extravagant vehicles to debut in the next installment of the Fast and Furious movie franchise.
The movie’s Facebook and Instagram pages recently revealed that filming was taking place in Iceland, in what should be an action-packed scene in the snow. Also teased were the “#F8 Ice Cars,” proving yet again that anything is possible in Fast and Furious. Dom’s car, for example, is a heavily-modified vintage Dodge Charger. This high-horsepower, rear-drive car will apparently run through the snow with its pricey HRE wheels and low-profile tires (that appear to be studded).
Letty’s ride, however, is more suited for the white stuff. She will pilot a Rally Fighter, which comes from Arizona-based Local Motors. Tej will hit the snow well-protected and heavily armed in his Ripsaw, a fast custom tank built by Howe and Howe Technologies (see it in action below). Meanwhile, Roman is going to need a lot of skills and luck driving his Lamborghini Murcielago through the ice. Hobbs is going big in his Ice Ram, an armored, path-clearing off-roader that rides on snow tracks.
Last week, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson revealed a few cars making cameos in the film, including the Nissan IDx concept that originally debuted back in 2013. Look for more teasers before the movie officially hits theaters on April 14, 2017.
