After adding a new Sport Touring trim to the 2016 Buick Encore crossover, Buick is applying a similar treatment to its three sedans: the 2016 Regal, Verano, and LaCrosse. Consisting of appearance upgrades along with a few additional features, the Sport Touring trim is meant to give the cars a slightly more aggressive appearance.
Common among all three sedans are 18-inch, dark-finish alloy wheels and a rear spoiler. Otherwise, the 2016 Buick Regal Sport Touring includes Buick’s IntelliLink infotainment system that’s compatible with Apple CarPlay, along with 4G LTE connectivity, remote start, a backup camera, and leather seats that are heated in front. The 2016 Buick LaCrosse Sport Touring has all of these same features, plus remote start. Finally, the 2016 Buick Verano Sport Touring has automatic climate control, a power driver’s seat, heated front seats, and 4G LTE connectivity.
Unlike the 2016 Buick Encore Sport Touring, which added a new, more powerful engine, the Buick Sport Touring sedans keep the same powertrains as the standard models. The Regal ST uses its 2.0-liter turbo-four, while the LaCrosse ST uses its 3.6-liter V-6, and the Verano ST comes with its standard 2.4-liter four-cylinder. The LaCrosse and Regal ST will also offer all-wheel drive as an option.
All three Buick Sport Touring sedans go on sale this fall, so expect more information to come over the next few months.
